What is AutoArt?

AutoArt is a Twitter account I created for the purpose of retweeting peoples artwork in order to help artists get a little extra exposure in this ever increasing whirlwind we call social media. Building a following is hard and every retweet can lead to potential new followers for the struggling artist. That's why I created this.

How does it work?

AutoArt is a a human/bot hybrid account, meaning an automatic program runs 24/7 retweeting posts with certain keywords and I check in throughout the day in my free time to manually retweet, reply to messages and comments, and run the weekly featured art.

What is weekly featured art?

Every week a piece of art submitted by an artist that follows AutoArt on Twitter gets featured in a tweet that is pinned to the AutoArt twitter profile and is retweeted multiple times throughout the week it is featured.

Who can submit art to be featered?

Anyone can as long as they're a follower.

How do I submit my art?

Simply send a direct message (DM) on twitter with a picture of the art you'd like to submit and say that you would like to submit it. It's as simple as that. You can also submit multiple pieces but only one will be chosen.

Can I submit NSFW art?

I personally feel that censorship of art is a sad thing. However due to the public nature of social media I would prefer to keep the featured art at most PG13 possibly rated R. But exceptions can be made for more extreme pieces if they are truly amazing. Basically, go for it. You've really got nothing to lose.

How do you choose what art gets featured?

I go through all the submissions and handpick a group of high quality "finalists" and then a random number generator is used to randomly pick the final winner.

My work wasn't chosen for a feature. Can I try again?

Absolutely! That's the beauty of being weekly, you can always submit new pieces and resubmit old ones. If at first you don't succeed, try try again.

What about stolen/copied art?

When a winner is chosen, an online check will be done to see if any red flags come up that may suggest art theft. If someone is found to have committed art theft, they will be disqualified and banned from all future weekly features (and possibly be publicly shamed). In the event that you notice a stolen piece of art has been featured without being caught, I urge you to contact me immediately so the matter can be resolved and corrected.
